A very vigorous perennial native to much of North America, Canada goldenrod can quickly colonize sunny, moist meadows and gardens. It’s bright and canary yellow inflorescences grow upwards from two to four foot tall and attract lots of pollinators!
The infusion of the leaves and flowers helps our bodies handle colds, sore throats, fevers, kidney problems, and poor tissue tone due to its astringent, diaphoretic, and anti-inflammatory actions. Externally, the root poultice has been known to help heal wounds and muscle and joint strains.
